 Hickory Elementary School’s Assistant Principal “Puckered Up”
By: Jeanette Jennings, Hickory Elementary School principal Jennifer Walter, assistant principal at Hickory Elementary School, recently KISSED A PIG! This year’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) fundraiser was “Laps for Learning.” The fundraiser supported the school’s wellness initiative. Hickory Elementary School’s PTA does one fundraiser a year, and that one basically sets the stage for the amount of support that the PTA can provide to the school. Keeping that in mind, the students were challenged to raise at least $12,000. They were motivated by the fact that Mrs. Walter promised to kiss a pig if they met the goal.
