Scholarships Available for Young Singers 15-22

The Deer Creek Chorale is offering three scholarships for singers 15-22 years old who participate in the 2010-11 Season. Applicants may download the official scholarship application from our website to submit with a letter of qualification from the singer and an endorsement from a music teacher/choir director no later than September 8, 2010.

Forest Hill Fourth Graders Research Rain Gardens
A group of Forest Hill Elementary School fourth graders are involved in Kids Planting Rain Gardens (KPRG), and have been working diligently on a rain garden project to reduce storm water pollutants in their school community. The students have researched facts about water quality, the benefits of a rain garden, as well as native plants that can survive in a rain garden environment.

September is College Savings Month
(Baltimore, MD) – Maryland State Treasurer Nancy Kopp announced today that Maryland has joined other states in declaring September “College Savings Month” in an effort to increase awareness among families about the importance of saving for their children’s higher education expenses and reduce future reliance on loans to finance a college education.
